Recent spike in web traffic at start of 2014

I've gotten more web traffic the last few weeks than I'm used to seeing. Was there a recent software patch or something that's causing issues? Please email me (or comment below) and let me know so I can better tailor the page to this new info: milescomer@gmail.com

I believe it is Microsoft Security Bulletin MS14-002 - Important
Vulnerability in Windows Kernel Could Allow Elevation of Privilege (2914368)

I think it is happening with some specific malware. When the malware is removed it seems like the NTLDR is missing error occurs. You disk can fix it, but after the next reboot or two it comes back to the NTLDR is missing error.

If by chance you happen to find out what specific malware is causing it, please post up. I've talked to about 30 people in the last few weeks about this happening to them, and so far this is the first mention of it coming back.
I will probably update the page to push for backup after the restore.

I recently removed the adware "highlightly" as well as others such as "mysearchdial" and "conduit", I was in the process of restarting my xp desktop to complete the cleaning of my computer with the program adwarebytes. When after the restart I got the ntldr error message.

I have also found that it is the removal of searchconduit and the installation of a windows update in combination that make this occur

Just got a security update for windows xp today. Asked me to restart and I got the NTLDR message right away. Seems fixed after I used your disk and follow your instructions. "First try this" did it.
